The Graphic Work
Concept and design of the catalogue for the exhibition of A.R. Penck’s graphic works 1979–2002, at the Versicherungskammer Bayern’s Kunstfoyer in Munich.
Corresponding to the firm stroke of the painter, the typography of the book is resolute – the lettering is bold throughout and appears in just two sizes. The catalogue’s jacket is in the style of an artist’s book by A.R. Penck, and is made of grey, machine-made cardboard with a simple, linen spine. On the front is a foil-embossed screen print from 1992.
